Physical Education Department
Physical education (PE) courses teach students how to perform physical activities, develop motor skills, and learn about physical fitness. The goal of PE is to help students develop the confidence and skills to be physically active throughout their lives. PE courses may also include instruction on teamwork, healthy habits, and social skills related to physical activity. PE classes are held in both the gym on the first floor and in the fitness / weight room on the fourth floor and are given to students two to three times a week because they alternate with students' Seminar classes.

Gym & Fitness Weight Room
This course is aligned with state and national standards and emphasizes foundational skills and concepts. The course is organized into seven themes that integrate health-related fitness concepts, social-emotional learning competencies, and complex transferable skills. Students learn to perform basic motor and manipulative skills, and become proficient in a few complex motor and sports activities. The gym is shared with the other two high schools in the building.
Sports Teams
The Grace Dodge campus invites students to join its co-varsity team. The co-varsity teams are established athletes amongst the three schools: BASE, Energy & Technology HS and Crotona International.
